Remix Culture

We live in a world where music can be made and used multiple times over and over again. Take the “Get Down” for example. They showed how beats are taken from old school classics and looped to make a continuos rhythm. This explores how everyone can be a creator if they can make something new out of something that already exists. Whether it be adding new beats to the track or speeding/slowing it up, even adding lyrics to match with the beat. It adds a new perspective on the sound and how you interpret it. Creating something new doesn’t require much experience as long as you have the passion to explore and be adventurous with your creations.

Here is an example from a YouTube channel called TrapNation who has over 13 million subscribers They are known for adding new sounds to already popular songs and making it more trendy and upbeat.

But the question stands; how does remixing affect the modern day music makers? And if so, in a negative or positive way?
